“j.thaddeus” SCOOPs Top Online Honours

PokerStars’ Spring Championship of Online Poker – All Stakes came to an end in April with a star-studded $10,000 main event.

The SCOOP festival closer attracted 502 players and the final table was a veritable Who’s Who of online pokerati. Brit online star Chris ‘moorman1’ Moorman eventually busted in 8th, winning $112,950, with the familiar names of Jon ‘pearljammer’ Turner and Niklas ‘ragen70’ Heinecker also doing battle.

In the end it was MTT specialist ‘j.thaddeus’ who came out on top, bagging the first prize of $963,338, when ‘ragen70’ was caught making a move with the monster that was J-6 on a flushing board. ‘j.thaddeus’ insta-called with his made club flush to take down the honours. The win brings ‘j.thaddeus’’ online winnings well towards the $2 million mark.

The 3-level buy-in series (featuring low, medium and high levels for each event) featured 63 events with tens of millions of dollars in prize money paid out. PokerStars-sponsored Hevad ‘RaiNKhAN’ Khan was a notable champion, taking down the 6-max NLHE event for $58,000. Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi was another notable winner, bagging himself a 7-card Stud title.

American ‘get crunk’ topped the points leaderboard at the end, winning himself a 2009 WCOOP Main Event ticket, a 2010 PCA prize package, and a 2010 EPT Monte Carlo prize package. British player James Dempsey, who featured in last month’s WPT Poker magazine and plays on ‘Stars under the moniker ‘MKKMOO’ had a stormer of a series and finished a creditable 13th on the leaderboard.
