Qualifiers take on Kid Poker in Million Dollar Challenge.
Pokerstars’ new “game show”, the Million Dollar Challenge, got underway last month with the show’s figurehead, Daniel Negreanu, playing his part in a heads up battle of biblical proportions.
With qualifiers from across the US queuing up to have a crack at the million dollar prize the cast for the show were a colorful bunch, to say the least. Possibly the most unlikely story of the show so far was that of poker playing priest, Andrew Trapp. With a direct line to the man upstairs the 28 year old managed to book himself a date with destiny against poker’s very own deity, Kid Poker.
Trapp eventually managed to topple Negreanu to claim the $100,000 first place prize and is now in line to meet the show’s other winners for a $1 million dollar showdown. Negreanu was keen to big up the commercial aspect of the show, saying, “It’s a game show first and a poker show second. It’s designed to attract a new audience to poker.” If the current crop of contestants is anything to go by the entire community will be in collective praise of the show, hoping that the show blesses the tables with a host of juicy new players. |
