Tom Dwan taking on all-comers yet again with WSOP bracelet side action.
If there’s one thing that many top online players aren’t short of, aside from money, it’s confidence. Racking up vast sums at the virtual felt is certainly enough to bestow a young internet kid with a certain amount of bravado, enough in fact to lead many of them to offer all-comers attractive odds to bet against them. One such virtual warrior with the audacity to play bookie with the online poker community is none other than the king of the virtual felt, Tom “durrrr” Dwan.
The Full Tilt sponsored pro has generally steered clear of major poker tournaments, opting to focus primarily on the lucrative side games that take place during events such as the WSOP. This year things are different, though, and with much of the cash game world already conquered he is now making a concerted effort to take down his first World Series of Poker bracelet.
In a forum post on 2+2 he outlined that he was willing to take bets at 3.25/1 on him winning a bracelet this year and 2/1 on getting 2 bracelets in 3 years. Both the Vegas and London WSOPE in September count and the minimum bet he is willing to accept is $5,000. He also outlined a series of other bets and has already accepted a handful of six-figure wagers with various high stakes pros. With so much riding on his performances this year we could well see the best young player in the world finally etch his name in the history books. |
