Tom Dwan Drags $3.8 Million Pot In Macau
According to reports coming out of Asia, Tom “durrrr” Dwan recently scooped one of the largest pots in poker history as he dragged $3.8 million in a single hand during the Big Game in Macau’s Starworld Hotel Poker King Club.
Details on the hand are fairly sparse, but Dwan was thought to be playing $1,300/$2,600 NLHE at the club when he squared off against a wealthy amateur on an A-T-2 flop, with a huge raising war resulting in HKD $30 million finding its way into the middle.
With the cards on their backs, Dwan turned over A-T against his opponent’s A-2 and managed to fade any miracle outdraw to win the hand, but despite dragging the monster pot there was no mention as to whether Dwan finished the session as a winner or not.
Whatever the outcome, there can be little doubt that Dwan can now add winning another of the game’s largest pots to his poker résumé having already set the record for the largest ever televised pot when he edged out Phil Ivey in a $1.1 million cooler on the Million Dollar Cash Game in 2010.
