The Micros To Be Turned Into Regular Web Comic?
It’s been four months since popular poker series The Micros put out an episode, but according to the show’s creator John Wray the once-animated series will be returning in the form of a web comic until a new sponsor can be found to fund video production.
Although the decision will (hopefully) only be a temporary fix for the series until some significant investment can be ploughed into The Micros, the news should at least sate the legions of the show’s fans on the twoplustwo poker forums, where Wray had this to say:
“As it turns out, animation is really ‘spensive, so instead of struggling to put out an episode every few months, we’re going to put out a web comic featuring the same characters hopefully a few times a week. If and when we get sponsored, we’ll be back making cartoons.”
The web comic version of The Micros will feature the same cast of Chase Berger, Rose Ballenger and Max Rofls as well as a host of new guest stars, with WSOP commentators Lon McEachrern and Norman Chad both featuring in the new strip’s teaser episode that was posted yesterday.
