Shaun Deeb Makes History With Fourth SCOOP Title
Online tournament maestro Shaun Deeb has signed his name in SCOOP history after capturing his fourth bracelet of this year’s festival at his eighth final table of the month with victory in the high buy-in $2,000 H.O.R.S.E. event.
With a pro-heavy line-up of 85 players taking their seats for the Spring Championship of Online Poker’s 38th event, Deeb rather limped into the final table as the third shortest stack, but he started quickly and never looked back from there on in.
Eventually finding himself heads-up with Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks holding an almost 1.5-to-1 chip lead, Deeb was in no mood to relinquish his shot at making series history and duly converted his opportunity during a round of LHE, where his Qs Tc got the better or Spinks’ Ad 5c.
The win notched Deeb a further prize of $46,325 but – more importantly for a self-confessed “title whore” – it bagged him his fourth SCOOP win of the year, the first time such a feat has been achieved since the online festival began, and cemented his place atop the high stakes leaderboard.
With Deeb now a lock to finish as SCOOP player of the year in the high stakes category, the American pro will bag himself a tonne of added value in the shape of PCA 2013 package and another shiny trophy to add to his rapidly-growing collection of accolades.
