Alex Cordero leads $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event #59
Alex Cordero is chip leader at the end of day 1b of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event at the World Series of Poker.
The Canadian is top of the pile going into day 2 of Event #59 having amassed a stack of 100,475 chips.
Next comes day 1a entrant Ronald Lee with 79,325 chips, just ahead of British young gun Jake Cody on 77,600, who like Cordero bought in on day 1b.
Now that both opening days are complete the prizepool has been officially confirmed as $4,158,000, with the eventual winner receiving $654,797.
A total of 4,620 players entered the tournament, with 726 now remaining.
Elsewhere at the World Series of Poker the $10,000 No Limited Hold’em / Six Handed tournament, Event #57, is down to the final two players, with chip leader Gregory Merson set to battle it out with Keith Lehr for a bracelet and the $1.1m first prize.
