Viktor Blom Parts Ways With PokerStars

Industry giants PokerStars.com announced yesterday that former Team PokerStars Pro member Viktor “Isildur1” Blom will no longer be representing the site after the two parties agreed not to extend his contract by mutual consent.

Having joined the company in 2011 after turning the poker world upside down with his epic high stakes battles against the likes of Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen and Patrik Antonius, the Swede will now be a free agent again and is not looking for a new sponsor.

“I’ve enjoyed my time as a Team Pro and I wish everyone at PokerStars the best,” said Blom in a statement that clearly implies there is no bad blood between the player and his former employers, adding “Now I was just want to concentrate on playing poker”.

PokerStars head of corporate communications Eric Hollreiser also confirmed that there was no ill-feeling between the two parties, saying “In his short time in poker, Viktor has played against the biggest names in poker at the highest stakes in the toughest games.

“It is hard to recall a player who has kept the poker world so riveted at such an early stage of his career. We’ll be watching with great interest and we wish him nothing but the best.”
