Going nuts in Nottingham
Another week, another big tournament in the UK, but the £500,000 Mega Deepstack at Dusk Till Dawn is no ordinary tournament. The five day event is running using the WSOP Main Event blind structure so is giving players the chance to experience a WSOP Main Event like experience for just £500.
Also despite the penchant for re-entry tournaments DTD took the decision to not allow re-entries to this event, despite there being three starting days. Thursday saw 235 players take to the felt on Day 1A with 54 making it through. Chip leader is Tom Hall (548,000), other notables to progress include: Gary Jones (385,000), Paul Jackson (316,500) and Stuart Fox (276,500).
The question is can DTD make the guarantee: “Hmmmmm is the answer I have been giving people at DTD over the last few days,” said DTD owner Rob Yong on his blog (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/blog.php). It’s also likely that some of the hottest action will take place away from the tournament at the cash tables, with a £10-£25-£50 NL game set to run, with Rob saying: “I will be playing, should be plenty of action, Marcel, Devilfish, Bambos and a few other guys will be around for the game.”
Live updates of the tournament can be found on blondepoker.com and there’s a live stream of the final day on Monday.
