Daniel Negreanu Fires Second Barrel At TwoPlusTwo
If you cast your minds back a few months, you’ll remember that poker pro Daniel Negreanu didn’t take too kindly to receiving a one-day ban from the TwoPlusTwo forums for what the site deemed “spamming” and fired a broadside at their moderators in his weekly video blog.
Well it now seems that the animosity between Negreanu and the powers that be at TwoPlusTwo has been kicked up a notch after a recent post from Kid Poker giving details about a charity podcast for the 22Q Foundation was deleted from the forum for contravening site guidelines.
TwoPlusTwo has had a long-standing policy to not support any charities – presumably due to the potential for scammers to take advantage of people by using fake appeals – but this p event is being supported by several poker players who will take part in a 50-hour show to raise money for 22Q.
Nevertheless the site shut down the thread just hours after it had been posted by Negreanu and the Canadian swiftly took to his blog at Full Contact Poker to post his thoughts on their decision.
“Have a heart. It’s for charity. Stop being such nits,” Negreanu wrote. “I get along fine with Dave Sklansky and feel he really isn’t too involved with all this crap, but Mason Malmuth and that kook moderator are greasy, slimy, nerdy, nutcases and they make me sick.”
Whether the site will review its policy and allow recognised charity appeals to promote themselves in light of the recent spat remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – for the time being at least, there’s still no love lost between Negreanu and his old sparring partners over at TwoPlusTwo.
