Shuffle up and deal for the PokerStars WCOOP

This Sunday the PokerStars WCOOP kicked off with events one and two both underway. Event number one – a $215 NLHE 6-max $1m guaranteed – attracted 7,322 runners to smash the guarantee making a prize pool of $1,464,000. The winner will take home $219,633.48 and the tournament has been paused meaning 63 players are in with a shot of doing just that. Jim ‘Mr_BigQueso’ Collopy, is in 11th place at the moment. The American finished runner-up to Gus Hansen in the £10,000 heads-up event at the WSOPE in 2010.

Event 2 – which effectively replaced the Sunday Million - was another $215 NLHE event, albeit a full ring one. A field of 10,608 created a prize pool of $2,121,600 with the winner taking home $302,969.34, Team PokerStars Pro Sandra Naujoks is still alive, although she sits 118/133 with just 12 big blinds.

Action continues today with a $320 PL Omaha event, a $320 NL Hold’em 6-max shootout and a $215 NL Hold’em turbo re-buy.
