Patrik Antonius Being Lined-Up To Represent ISPT
While it’s been a rocky ride for the Partouche Poker Tour recently, one positive piece of news to come out of the French poker series’ Main Event this week is that Finnish high stakes super star Patrik Antonius was spotted wearing an International Stadiums Poker Tour patch.
A quick glance at the ISPT’s website revealed that Antonius had agreed to represent the tour for the duration of the PPT final, with a brief bio explaining: “Always looking for new and exciting experiences, Patrik Antonius was immediately attracted by the concept of the ISPT.”
Antonius’ entry on the website was also supported by a recent photo uploaded onto the ISPT’s Twitter feed featuring the Finn posing alongside ISPT chief executive Prosper Masquelier and newly-signed tour ambassador Liz Lieu, with both of the poker pros sporting the tour logo.
Whether or not this means that Antonius will become the next high-profile poker player to sign up to officially represent the site remains to be seen, but given the ISPT have already enlisted Lieu, Mike Mizrachi and Sam Trickett, it would certainly be in keeping with their current recruitment policy.
Antonius, meanwhile, is yet to comment on his involvement with the ISPT – which is scheduled to host its debut event at London’s Wembley Stadium this May – but it would certainly come as no surprise if the two parties release a statement officially unveiling an agreement in the coming weeks.
We guess that would just leave Phil Ivey...
