Genovesi leads WPT Malta final table; 27 remain at WPT Borgata
Just six players remain at WPT Malta, which is sponsored by Goldbet and Jackson Genovesi is doing a pretty good impression of Jamie Gold. The Italian has led the field since Day 1 and will start the final table as chip leader. The winner will take home €120,000 and Genovesi’s nearest challenger at the moment is Yorane Kerignard. There’s also the possibility of a female WPT winner in the shape of Hui Chen Kuo. Of course to get to the final table on Day 3 20 of the 26 players had to be eliminated and amongst those who busted were: Tony G (10th) and Jack Salter (8th).
Meanwhile in Atlantic City at WPT Borgata the 174 players who started Day 3 were reduced to just 27 over eight and a bit levels of play. Patrick Eskandar finished the day as chip leader with 2,972,000 but a host of poker sharks are lurking in the water, Steve Brecher (2,463,000) who won WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars in 2009 is in third overnight, whilst Jeff Williams, Lee Childs and Todd Terry are in the chasing pack.
