Jonathan Duhamel’s Ex Set To Plead Guilty To Robbery
Bianca Roja-Latraverse, the ex-girlfriend of former WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, is expected to plead guilty to plotting the attack and robbery of her former partner last December in an ongoing criminal investigation.
Roja-Latraverse stands accused of being the mastermind behind a break-in at the player’s Quebec home that saw him tied up and severely beaten before a team of robbers escaped with his gold bracelet, a Rolex watch and several thousand dollars in cash.
It is understood that Duhamel’s former girlfriend used knowledge gained while dating the Canadian pro to orchestrate the scheme and despite previously pleading not guilty to grand larceny, kidnapping, breaking and entering, assault and battery, she appears to have had a change of heart.
It has been reported today that Roja-Latraverse’s lawyer said earlier this week that her client wishes to start off with a “clean slate” and will be reversing her plea in the trial, which was originally scheduled to for last Friday, and the court hearing will therefore be deferred to another later date.
The postponement represents the second time that the trial has been delayed, with the original hearing having been pushed back due to an alleged incident of violence at the Tanguay Detention Centre in which Roja-Latraverse was being held. No date has yet been set for the new court hearing.
