Phil Hellmuth will have to get on his bike to catch Tony G

Whilst there have been plenty of cameras covering the World Poker Tour event in Malta, there’s been just as many covering the action off the felt. Two of poker’s biggest names – Tony G and Phil Hellmuth – have been taking part in a Poker Triathlon, the Brownlee brothers they are not.

Yesterday we got to see footage of the basketball event (http://www.partypoker.com/blog/tony-g/phil-vs-tony-one.html), a contest in which both players had to nail 10 three point shots in the quickest time possible. Well Tony G proved better at putting the biscuit in the basket and opened up a lead of one minute thirty-three seconds on the 11-time bracelet winner.

Round two saw them take to the pool – an event where Hellmuth believed he had an edge – and so it proved as he clawed back 27 seconds on the Lithuanian. See that footage here - http://www.partypoker.com/blog/tony-g/phil-vs-tony-two.html

It’s all set up nicely for the final event – a one mile run – Tony G will rightly start as favourite but Hellmuth still thinks he has a chance.
