Oktoberfest Begins This Week On PKR.com
Next-gen poker site PKR.com have announced that they will be hosting a 16-day, 51-event online series from Friday this week in which total prize pools are expected to exceed $450,000.
The Oktoberfest online series will offer one headline tournament per day which will be available at low, medium and high stakes buy-ins to cater for all bankrolls, with each entry level featuring its own leaderboard to ensure that players only ever compete against participants at the same stakes.
At the end of the series, the top two players from each leaderboard will advance to a six-handed freeroll in which a WPT Dublin package will be given away and there will also be $3,500 in additional tournament ticket prizes that will be paid out among the other highest ranking leaderboard entries.
Buy-ins throughout the series range from as little as $1.50 to a $270 PKR Masters tournament with $75,000 guaranteed and the two-week festival will culminate in a trio of two-day Oktoberfest Championship events which will be broadcast later in the year on PKR TV and their YouTube channel.
“We’ve always had a soft spot for this particular series, and we’re delighted that we can offer even more events than any previous year,” said PKR card room manager Neil Wright. “Old favourites have kept their place, alongside new and entertaining game types. It’s also great that one player will freeroll their way to a WPT Dublin package and we look forward to following their progress.”
