More Developments On Team Ivey
Those poker fans with their fingers on the pulse will no doubt be aware that eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey has been working on plans to build a revolutionary new poker training site for some time now.
Well, those plans appear to continue apace as a glance at the IveyPoker.com website reveals that Octo Niner Greg Merson is the latest player to join the team and will now offer advice alongside the likes of Partrik Antonius and Jennifer Harman on Team Ivey.
According to an interview between Ivey and ESPN.com’s Zach McCann, the iconic poker player believes that not enough aspiring pros know how to play the game “right way” and his new site will aim to provide free, downloadable strategy videos for members of the poker community.
“I think a lot of people don’t really know how to play poker and I think this is going to be a great opportunity for them to play with the best players in the world,” Ivey told McCann on Monday, before going explaining his decision to add Merson to the big-name pros associated with the site.
“He [Merson] doesn’t have much of an ego,” Ivey explained. “I think he’s going to be around poker for a long time and be very successful – that’s why I chose Greg. He saw an opportunity to be associated with the brand, but really it was me who came after him.”
Although Ivey’s new website is not currently fully operational, keep a close eye on www.IveyPoker.com over the next few weeks for future developments.
